Designed by Christian Thalmann, Overbold is a serif font family. This typeface has two styles and was published by Catharsis Fonts.

Overbold is an unapologetic display typeface inspired by an illustration in Eric Gill’s Essay on Typography (p.51), in which he demonstrates «how not to make letters». In particular, he shows that increasing the weight of the downstroke in a serif «A» without structural adjustments yields an absurd, «overbold» result. I found the letter so charming that I decided to blatantly disregard Gill’s wisdom and draw an entire overbold typeface. Here is the result. I’m not sorry.

Overbold comes with extensive glyph coverage in Latin, Greek, and Cyrillic. Check out the Greek — it’s probably the best part of the typeface!  Furthermore, stylistic set SS01 offers an alternate ampersand, SS02 comprises infant letterforms, and SS03 grants merciful alternatives for the three strangest overbold capitals.  The infant forms are also available as a spin-off font for convenience.

Have fun with Overbold! I certainly did.

I am grateful to the helpful souls on the TypeDrawers and Typographie.info forums for encouragement and constructive feedback, and to the Glyphs team for their fantastic type editor. Overbold is dedicated to my son Marius.

Download Galix Mono Font Family From Schizotype Fonts

Designed by Dave Rowland, Galix Mono is a sans serif font family. This typeface has eighteen styles and was published by Schizotype Fonts. Download Galix Mono Font Family From Schizotype Fonts This monospaced version of Galix was commissioned in 2037 by the space exploration company Earth2, as part of a major overhaul of their branding, which had used, since 2021, a generic sans serif (much like every other company). Many specialists in both design and space exploration suggested that this very rebrand started a chain of events that concluded with the invention of time travel in 2041. Contrary to the perceived notion put forward in popular Science Fiction, time travel is only (as of now) possible in the digital realm. It was considered fitting that included among the first files sent back in time should be the Galix Mono typeface, which was remade in OTF format to ensure that it would work with the technology available in 2019. Earth2, for al...

Download Yassitf Font Family From Ingrimayne Type Yet another san serif typeface, Yassitf is a generic sans, a font meant to blend in rather than stand out. It has little contrast and is almost monoline. It includes three widths: condensed, narrow, and regular. The widths have four to six weights: ultra thin, thin, light, plain, bold, and extra bold. Further, each width and weight combination has both upright and italics styles. The thirty fonts in the family contain several open-type features, including both proportional and tabular (monospaced) numbers.
